S.W.O.T. Analysis

Strengths

My best traits as a person go hand in hand with the traits needed to thrive in business and marketing. My friendly, sociable, and approachable nature directly correlates to marketing and advertisement. I connect people, promote product and services, and understand the intricacies of social media better than anyone else. Along with that I have technical skills in Microsoft Office. I have also gained experience and skills in the workplace. I worked with McDonald's as a research analyst and I current work at Seyferth PR Firm. My unique combination of traits, skills, and job experience will be essential to my future success.

Weaknesses

I identify my lack of organization as a weakness as my weakness in business. As a result I lose ideas, become stressed, and overwhelmed. Not being organized leads directly to less efficiency and effectiveness. This is why I have made a conceited effort to become a detailed, organization-oriented businessman. I implemented techniques such as using a planner, moving all my files to digital, making a short- and long-term goal list, etc. to improve my workplace organization. No habits completely change overnight, but with due diligence any habit can change and I am determined to be more organized.

Opportunities

In a generation where Americans want to be entrepreneurs and not employee’s, there is a growing demand for their small business to be advertised and marketed. Not only are there thousands of small business owners in America needing my expertise, I have built connections with marketing in Cooperate America. Having connections in any job field is vital and it is even more imperative in the marketing and advertisement field. Connections can vastly improve your personal work life, and in Marketing connections can also be used to connect people and ideas together. That is why I have made an effort to establish strong connections with important figures.

Threats

The main threat to myself is competition. Marketing is the 13th most popular major out of the top 384 colleges according to College Factual. This directly affects my ability to find a job. To combat this I must separate myself from my peers. Marketing is a broad major, so to separate myself from my peers I learned Spanish, learned technical skills, and have professional experience with public relation and data analysis.
